You awaken early in he day, the sun hardly beginning yet to look over the horizon as it awakened from it’s nightly slumber. But the sun would have no part in your actions today, and, truly, had not for some time. For once more you must venture below the earth, digging deeper, ever deeper into the secrets of the caverns below. Even that which already you have discovered would fill a dozen anthropological papers, but that mattered little. The warnings, the dangers expounded upon in the carvings and paintings that filled the caves…

They piqued your interest.

So now, ever more curious, increasingly eager to discover the lost secrets and hidden dangers, you seek that which has long been hidden in the depths of the earth. Your camp has progressively migrated farther and farther into the system of caverns as you worked, and now you would have to rely on maps and the trailing line you’ve been stringing out behind you to even find the surface anymore. Your eyes have long been adjusted to the dim, yellow lights you’ve been using . The darkness of the caves holds no more fear, for you - regardless of the morbidity of the warnings that coat every wall, the only feeling you have towards the darkness into which you venture is curiosity, and a constant hope, every day, that perhaps you would find something, some clue as to the final revelation you seek. You have long since abandoned your original efforts to catalogue and study the ancient carvings and paintings, instead heedlessly going deeper and deeper into the bowels of the earth, setting up your small camp when you grow too tired to continue, and whenever you grow hungry eating tasteless food like paste and dry, uncooked prepackaged ‘meals’ of nutrient bricks, that you could only wish were as flavourless as the paste.

Your carefree whistling as you walk down into the darkness echoes around you, mixing with the dull thudding of your footfalls and the clattering of your gear. Occasionally you allow your fingertips to trail across the rough and jagged stone of the cavern walls, noting the carvings by their unnatural smoothness as you navigate almost entirely without the use of sight, a light breeze always at your back, flowing from

Egg-citing questions await!

Prepare yourselves for some of the most eggs-ellent questions about the eggsotic foods of the Underground! No yolks here, folks, it's serious! Why, when you see some ovum, you'll hardly believe it!

I'll scramble this one out, and hopefully it won't be too badly de-laid.

Before I get started with the story, let me just say that this new story of mine doesn't mean I drop my others. As I get inspiration I need to act on it, because it makes me motivated and inspired to work on my older stories.

This is also a BIG experiment. You'll see why in a moment.
----------

“I didn’t mean it. I didn’t want to hurt anyone.”

Oh gods, I can still see it. All the blood, their bodies lying there in pieces, the words carved into the walls, and their faces.

Oh gods, make it stop!

“Please, don’t leave me here! I won’t hurt anyone again, just let me out!”

The last nail in the coffin is hammered.

“Don’t do this! It was an accident! I’m sorry!”

Dirt is shoveled onto my prison.

“D-don’t. Please. I don’t want to die. I wish I could bring them back! I would trade my life for theirs, but I can’t! PLEASE, DON’T DO THIS!”

The noise above recedes and I know no one is there. I’ve been left here to die. I am to pay for my sins with my life. I will die of hunger and dehydration, but not before I go mad. I’m not a monster.

I’m not a monster.

I’m not a monster.

I’m not a monster.

I’m not…

I don’t want to die, but if I die then I won’t see their faces anymore. I won’t replay the scene in my head anymore. I’ll be at peace.

“Ha… Haha… Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!” This isn’t a punishment! They are letting me be free! Geniuses, every last one of them!

I won’t have to remember this anymore.

I won’t have to.

I don’t want to remember…

”Your wish is my command.”
**********

“Hmm, another corpse just left here to rot.” I feel a sharp poke in my side. “Well, anything to fuel the fires.” I’m lifted into the air and dropped into something metal, causing me to groan slightly. “Oh? You’re not dead?” Whatever is carrying me is tipped over,

[Ļ] Not right yet, no. Girl asks th' dame what might be on 'er mind.

"Well, no," I reply. "Not yet, I guess." <well that sure was something to tell a demon> A demon who lives right next to the onje district? Yeah, that's totally how predators work <by looking as harmless as possible yes>. That's not a word I'd use to describe her. "I've got someone to meet after this, and then I'll check in for the night somewhere." Crashing in someone's shed seems like it would get me in trouble, here. I already know I won't be fortunate enough to find another Elis.

"O h ?" Verritine lifts a very orange eyebrow. Hold on, are those scales up by her hairline? "Y o u ' r e w e l c o m e t o t r y , I g u e s s ."

Huh?

"...Try what?"

"F i n d i n g a n o p e n b e d, l e t a l o n e a r o om , d u r i n g t h e S a i n t ' s S e v e n ?" She barks a laugh (I think), and it's like someone slapped a microphone. My towel is set lightly down upon the countertop and she looks me in the eyes. Hers are almost normal—brown eyes, like you'd see on any regular human, but the pupils are weird. Instead of a black circle, they look like commas, extending over the iris.

[Maybe light blue? ...Well, that'd be downright silly now, wouldn't it? I'd start getting all her mail~]

Hello everyone and welcome to...well my first real story on this site given that the last one was more of a prototype. So welcome to Imperiled Indentured Servant! This story starts with a line I'm sure many have used, someone catches Yukari's eye then she fools around again. But before we get into all that we need to craft our MC. Our MC is a youngish male student living in the outside world in Japan. He starts out as a normal, if somewhat shy, student but as he gets dumped into very different situation (god damn it Yukari) your posts can alter his personality.

Name: Up to you guys

Age: 16ish but if you guys want more shotamoe you can discuss that in the comments and if gets enough people behind it we can hash it out

Personality: A normal and kind, if somewhat shy student but can change with your votes. You want to turn him into a deadpan snarker? Do it!

Body type: A tad short. Likes to keep himself fit by running so normal with the budding signs of a runner's body

Hair: You guys

Eyes: You guys

Hobbies: Mostly up to you guys but he is part of the archery club

Alright one last thing. As you know I threw the stats system out but I'm keeping a reformatted perks system. Every time you guys see one of my stories to the end you will get a list of perks that reflected events in the story and no I'm not telling you guys when you unlock one you only get to see the end result. From that list you get to pick one perk to add to your permanent list of perks and the others are discarded but you can still get them in other stories. Also at the end of each story I will tell you the percent you have built to getting a new perk pick. What percent you ask? Well right now at the start of a story you can pick one perk but every time you finish a story it builds a percent bar (also driven by in story events) till you unlock the ability to pick another peck. So each time you get 100% you can pick +1 perk and the percent resets. As you might have guessed perks are picked at the start of the story IF and ONLY IF we are crafting an MC. However you can still gain perk points and perk pick percent from all my stories so don't let that ho

Not many writers here can actually finish their story, let alone make a second playthrough of it. So no need to think that far ahead yet. That said, I'd prefer a new story.

Used to be big time into stouts, and my absolute favourite brand remains a regional brand stout named “Sawn”/“Screwed” in my native tongue. However, as my alcohol tolerance has dwindled since college days, I’ve found myself downing one or two local brand tequila- and cranberry-flavoured bitters every odd evening.

She continues to grace me with that look that speaks of quiet mirth and expectation. The look of a woman who has much and knows that more is coming <so why chase after the inevitable>. The look that tells you that money can, in fact, buy happiness.

A look as benign as that shouldn't be worn by someone so dangerous.

...And... that's the key, here. Danger.

"...Ma'am," I begin, somehow managing to sound sure of myself and untroubled. I don't know how my voice didn't crack, my throat feels so dry. "...Ma'am, I find myself a little concerned by that request, considering what you've just been through."

My fingers hold the haraegushi tight in one hand—above the break; though empowered like it is, that isn't as big a concern—but not so tight as to look like I'm desperately clenching it <hard to do that but managing somehow>. My other hand is still held up, holding the star-light steady on us. And because of that light, I see those blue eyes widen slightly before crinkling in sudden amusement.

"Aiya, a charmer, are we?" says the <probably> Unidentified Smoke-woman, putting a hand to her cheek in embarrassment. "Thank you for the concern, dear, but really, I'm qui—"

"I was talking about someone who hurts the innocent. Ma'am."

That comes out before I can stop myself, and it cuts her off immediately. I reflect that while tokusatsu and hot-blood mecha may uphold the notion of morality and justice, they also tend to glorify what is, truthfully speaking, poor impulse control. I'd never looked at it like that before, but it's amazing w

"99 by 155, vel Z, Dis-relative."

... what "vel Z" means, I have no idea. Vel is "ascending" and so may denote "height level Z", i.e., the ground. On the other hand, it may instead mean "in this context, vel is the z-positive axis"... which would imply that other, less obviously sensible possibilities are in common use.

Just (r,θ) rather than (x,y), I hope?

Or using cylindrical coordinates with z⁺ pointing due an, so that neighbors along a street have no coordinate values in common, and likewise, second-floor apartments differ in all three coordinates from their first-floor counterparts?

(Cylindrical coordinates with z⁺ pointing up are almost reasonable, if you have named streets; it introduces a bit of redundancy that can help if you get one of the coordinates wrong, but still know the street name. Except on the central radii; but everybody knows what's on those, right?)

I feel something winding down as soon as I move away from my companions, like a sort of tension, you could call it. Of course, I love them to death, wouldn’t even be up here without them and all that, but still. I’ve had little to no alone time since we left the underground, when before alone time was all I got. It’s a radical change, and I enjoy some peaceful isolation by myself, like this. It’s calming and feels like going back normal. The forest seems to help too: the colourful, pastel glows and lack of direct sunlight puts me in this relaxed state, like floating about underwater. Under warm water.

Not so relaxed that I forget myself, of course. I mark the (massive!) tree trunks as I go, so I don’t get lost. No knife, so I have to use my nails. Fearsome youkai claws, technically.

I wander around, more enjoying myself on a stroll than whatever excuse myself I gave myself to get out here. ‘Sides, I’m sure I’m not hurting anyone’s feelings, even if they knew I’m leaving for some alone time. I’ve seen those two and how they’re acting: back at the temple, and just how they’ve… stuck together, in various ways. It feels like the two of them are a proper group, while I’m hovering around them. Literally, too. Not that I’m against it! I mean, them. I know they were already close friends, it’s just that Parsee has clearly softened up a considerable amount lately. It’s understandable they’d get closer. They’ll be happy to have some time to themselves.

Ugh, what am I even thinking about? It’s none of my business what their relationship is and what they’re up to. I think the episode with Rinnosuke is making me think too much.

What did I say I was going to look for, again? Tinder? How stupid, it’s not even near cold enough for us to need a fire. I look around the forest, surprisingly sparse of life aside from the gigantic trees and the mysterious living light bulbs planted to them. Not even any shrubs around, just a whole lot of dead leaves. Actually, now that I take a good look — excuse me, a good listen at it, this place is way too silent for what it is. You’ve go
