So why not a thread for this?

Anyone else around here into this? I forget how I found it, but I ended up addicted to screwing around with it for a few days. Fraxy is sort of a 'build your own danmaku' engine/game available from http://mokeron.hp.infoseek.co.jp/zg/fraxy_main.html , with a wiki at http://fraxy.kafuka.org/wiki/Main_Page that's somewhat helpful for understanding various functions, though I figured out most of the commands myself through experimentation. There can be some rather complex and difficult creations made through this, making extensive use of various functions and 'simple' programming, but that's all still beyond me.

Pic is something I made to see if it was possible, should look familiar to some folks around here, though it's easier to tell when it's in motion. Not as hard as it looks, either, there are a number of flaws with it. First and foremost being that you can simply fly around behind it and attack it from the rear with little threat, but this was more of a test to see if I could make it look like intended. If I were to finish it, it would be best played with a fixed area, so you couldn't get behind it and were forced to take it on from the front.

Really must thank you for the wiki. Learning about Extra Parameters and what the Events actually do makes Fraxy a lot more fun now.

I still can't come up with anything fantastic though.

I figured out a lot of things about the extra parameters before I found the wiki, but it's been a while since I've toyed around with Fraxy in depth, so I don't remember off the top of my head.

Lots of things dealing with bits though, and attempting to create interesting patterns. For the most part, I've been trying to work on something that goes through several stages, switching between attack patterns as it progresses, but I don't really understand the functions that well to make it change form or what have you.

The fact that there's a cap on how many bullets there can be at once though kind of hinders some things.

This image has convinced me to download Fraxy.

This looks really good. I'll give it a try.
