Okay, so, I got an email from the webhost this morning telling me they've been acquired by somebody else, a company that doesn't seem to exist. Fuck knows what shenanigans are going on, but if shit hits the fan, this url belongs to me and nobody else. If the site goes down or vanishes, this url will be used again simply with another server and the same content we have backed up from here.

That's all, just giving the userbase a heads-up in case we're about to get reamed. Hopefully this warning will not even be needed.

That is both strange and alarming.
I'm glad that you're on top of it.

Bizarre circumstances, but thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully this won't cause too many issues.

That said, you might want to put this on the front page, and, if you can, move this up to the top of the board, or sticky it or something. Should try and minimize damage if worst comes to worst.

What the fuck.

Meh, as long as the URL doesn't change, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Need donations?

Details? Who is our webhost, anyway, and who are they being acquired by?

Thanks man, I appreciate the warning

You should put this on /th/. Not everyone checks /gensokyo/.

Or he could put it in red letters with a link to this topic at the top of every board. Like a global announcement or something.

50 bucks say that it is holy who bought it. Even now he is sitting in his dark room, planning how to bring down THP with his minions from doujinstyle.

That's all it says. The 'Show/Hide' link doesn't do anything.

You're using Internet Explorer, probably an older version that doesn't cope well with DOM manipulation.

Now please, please, stop. Microsoft's lack of desire (or ability) to comply with standards holds the entire Internet back, forcing developers to struggle to support browsers that interpret the same code in a myriad of different ways. It's not like it's even a good browser despite its flaws; Opera, Firefox, and Chrome all have the same set of features and more and have virtually no learning curve if you're like 90% of their users and just use them to look at web pages.

So... when do I start handing out torches and pitchforks? Can we sing an angry mob song if something does go wrong? Pic nonexistent.

I wouldn't worry overly much. Its probably just one of Yukari's outside corporations buying us to keep an eye on us because we know too much.

You can start to worry when writers start to disappear off the face of the planet.

Since that's already happening, we should skip the pitchforks and start researching magic again, then argument it into our science, then invade Gensokyo.

They will never see it coming.
When we attack of course.

I find it kinda bad that the original url for the old site still doesn't redirect here.

Loads of people in a thread on /jp/ which was asking where it went didn't even know it had been moved here. I wouldn't be surprised if some writers were unaware that the site had moved.

also it is rather unfortunate that some of the good writers have disappeared without explanation. It sucks to get into a good story only to find 2 hours later after reading through it all at the bottom of the thread that it hasn't been updated for several months.

That's not the fault of anyone here. Holy still has control over the old URL, and no technical skill to speak of. More than that, given how simple it would be to make a redirect, it's clear that Holy just doesn't care enough to help.

He's kind of a dick, judging from what others have said about him.

Yeah... yeah. More than anything else, this is what kills me the most. Never used to happen to me because I managed to stay on top of everything that cropped up. But after the new address/server split, and the 'what the hell' period afterword, I got to come back to some new stories and content. Rediscovering it all? Fucking incredible...

...until I got to the very end of 'Deeper Underground' when Grue vanished...

God damn it

Now I know what it must be like reading CUtMaS.
