While the Magic Circle Against [Alignment] is just an area of effect version of the Protection spells, it's also important to note that it's two levels higher compared to the Protection series. Balistafreak vetoed Protection From Evil because as a level 1 spell, it was too weak. If that's the case, a higher level spell, infused with Hope, may be enough to do something.
